TFIG! This Friday Is Great.
TFIG! You did not read that incorrectly and I did not mistype. TFIG = This Friday Is Great! Today we received one of two tax refunds. The federal return was deposited this morning and it departed as quickly as it came. It is beyond tempting to take the money, do some shopping and then see what is left over for the plasectomy. Really, the temptation is just ridiculous right now. I can think of many things to spend it on, let’s see; dinner out tonight, a new mattress; a new phone, living room furniture, clothes, homeschooling supplies, new frying pans, and many more. I can rationalize all day of getting them and why we NEED them, but truly we don’t. They are all wants. We have beds, phones, furniture, clothes, homeschooling supplies (we do need more), frying pans etc.
Today we paid off a Discover card and two small balance Chase cards. This leaves us with one more Chase credit card before we can tackle Sallie Mae and kick her butt to the curb. The other tax return will come from the state and I have no idea when that will show up. We filed the state return on Feb 5th and from what I understand that it can take 4 to 6 weeks to receive the refund by mail, I requested direct deposit and it is supposed to arrive faster. How much faster? I don’t know and the state does not identify how much faster. That refund will supply the money to our emergency fund. It will feel great to know that we have a backup up plan as right now we are merely crossing our fingers and hoping that Murphy stays far, far away.

WOO HOO! Doesn’t it feel great to see that 0 balance on the credit card statement! We just used our return to do the same thing and it still makes me smile everytime I log into the site!

It sure does! I love being able to log into my statements and seeing a $0 balance. Congrats on your success as well.

If you want to read a reader’s feedback
, I rate this article for four from five. Detailed info, but I just have to go to that damn yahoo to find the missed bits. Thanks, anyway!
