Where To Score A Deal? Seriously, Where?
I am just starting out learning about great ways to spend less of my own money, save more money, get free items, use coupons and overall live cheaper. We recently started cutting coupons from the Sunday paper on the items that we buy regularly. Some Sunday papers are a gold mine for the items we buy and other times we can barely recoup the cost of the $2.00 paper. There has to be more out there, right?
A couple years ago I stumbled across the Grocery Game website and was encouraged by the idea of saving beaucoup bucks on the grocery bill, after a quick search using their zip code locator it revealed only a measly three stores within a 25 mile radius of where we live, two of them drug stores. That quickly blew that idea from my mind and we continued along doing what we always had. Currently we do most of our grocery shopping at a store called Aldi’s. The food is cheap compared to other grocery chains and they do have some deals on well known brands from time to time, but mostly it is from random brands I have never heard of before outside of Aldi’s that attempt to duplicate the name brand items. Our hope is to beat those prices or at least bring the cost of other items down so we can afford to cut the budget down to increase the rate of the plasectomy.
I know of Coupon Mom and The Grocery Game, I know there is more out there, could you point me to some?

I don’t do grocery game nor do I buy papers. Sometimes it’s just not worth it! I do coolsavings.com and smartsource. i also pop over to my favorite product’s website to see if they have coupons. Coupons work when it’s something that you’ll use…otherwise it’s such a waste of time. Oh and do CVS and Walgreens too.

SuperWalmart price matches. So, if you have the flyer from another store, don’t want the added trip and can find the same brand in Walmart, they’ll give it to you at the other price
Also (few people know this) EVERYTHING is negotiable. If you’re in the meat department and they’re asking $1.79 a pound for ground beef, find the department manager and ask what kind of a deal they’ll offer if you purchase multiple pounds. I buy cases of soup this way.
May seem like I’m purchasing a lot at once, but at least I know I’m eating at the lowest possible price

Try mommysnacks.net. They show how to combine your coupons with good deals. I tried those coupons games but could never make it work right. I’m also going in search of a mentor to teach me.

We simply don’t have the time to do any of the grocery game stuff. We just get stuff in bulk and plan meals, whoever gets home first cooks. And we usually cook enough to have leftovers or lunch for work the next day. We’ve reduced our grocery trips drastically since doing that. I only use coupons that I get in the mail for our local stores so I don’t have to buy papers. For everything else (non-food items) I can usually score a great deal online.
